I’ve bought this geographical atlas of the world at the antiquarian bookstore in Kyiv, Ukraine. It was printed in the German Democratic Republic in the year 1979, that’s why I think it was brought to Kyiv before the year 1991, in the time of the USSR. The cover is not in perfect condition but the atlas itself is a great example of German Democratic Republic cartography.

It has 336 pages, among which 158 is the index text part. The main part consists of traditional detailed maps, that contain political and geographical information.

The lesser part consists of a world time zone map, alphabet map, tectonic map, climate zone map, and many others (11 maps total).

Finally, the atlas has three space maps — Solar system, constellations map, and a detailed map of the Moon.

The whole atlas is of great quality — good print, nice (standard) colors, thick paper. I think that this edition had many copies because the price for the atlas in book stores (both online and offline) is quite low.
